About the role:
• This position is full time, Monday to Friday in Karratha office preferable but some split time between Perth and Karratha offices may be considered for right applicant
• Residential to Karratha is preferred though FIFO may be considered for the right applicant.
• Travel to remote locations frequently is a requirement.
Purpose of the Position
Yurra are currently seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to join our team based in Karratha
Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead or assist with tender preparation and submissions
• Develop resourced schedules and plans to meet completion requirements
• Liaise daily with the client representatives, Superintendent-Civil Projects, and Engineers in relation to the schedule and critical path items always focusing ahead
• Client Management - maintain professional and productive relationships with existing and potential clients
• Drive effective and value-adding compliance of daily/weekly/monthly key performance indicators for teams & individuals as set by the company
• Participate and lead in weekly and monthly Contract operational meetings with client representatives and internal leaders
• Manage the Contract profit and loss, working closely with the Manager-Finance to identify discrepancies and ensure effective billing processes
• Effectively manage and resolve HSEQ issues and escalate to the Line Manager where required
• Provide direction for the improvement of processes and procedures to get the most professional, compliant, safe, and efficient procedures on site
• Actively participate in pre-start meetings, information sessions, and field leaderships ensuring effective and open communication channels with the operational team
• Ability to work within a team environment remotely and make decision autonomously and effectively manage and resolve personnel issues.
• Work closely with the superintendents in identifying personnel as having potential for further technical training and progression
• Daily review and approval/rejection of employee timesheets and leave requests through HRIS system

You will be self-motivated and results-driven, have superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting and finance skills and strong leadership qualities.
Your entrepreneurial spirit and vision will assist Yurra in maintaining relationships with clients, generating new business, increasing staff productivity, improving service, ensuring sustainability and meeting business objectives.
To be successful for this role, you will have:
• Australian recognised tertiary qualification in management, engineering or similar field (Diploma or above)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing operational teams of 20+ personnel at Superintendent level or above
• Excellent understanding of and a high regard of health, safety, and quality obligations in accordance with legislation and client policies
• Minimum 10 years’ experience working in civil construction, mining, rail, or similar industry
• Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems and risks to brief and budget
• Strong understanding of the Pilbara region and relevant mining/rail industry knowledge
• Proven experience in effectively leading and creating a proactive, safe, and supportive team culture
• Basic understanding of Aboriginal culture and heritage
• Desirable but not essential, experience working on Main Roads WA projects OR renewables
